The Equestrian Tavern, 124 Blackfriars Road was the Magdalene Coffee House 1775-1825, it was rebuilt as part of the Surrey Vaudeville Theatre, both were destroyed by enemy action on 10 May 1941, and at least 18 fireman were killed in this incident. ***
