My late father, Frederick Thomas Allen, took over the license of the above pub from Mrs Rawlings some time in 1941. We moved in 1943 when my father took on the license of the Richmond Arms, 1 Orchardson Street, NW8. ***

The full list of the licensees who succeeded my father right up to the closure of the Bessborough Arms in 1961 is - ----- Burry,  Jesse Fuller,  Robert Brindle and Isaac Whittingham. I do know that Mr Whittingham was the last tenant when the pub was demolished in 1961 to make way for a Roman Catholic Primary School (which still stands on the site). ***
