"Lot 2 - An old established and well-accustomed FREEHOLD PUBLIC HOUSE called the
ORDNANCE ARMS. Very desirably situated for Business, near the East-Bridge, in
the Parish of St. Leonards, Colchester; it is Timber-built and Tiled, and
contains good underground Cellars, Tap-Room, Parlour, Dining-Room, Five
Bed-Chambers, and Two Attics; a Washhouse, Yard, Garden, and Stabling for 12
Horses, together with a Wharf, possessing a valuable and extensive Frontage to
the River Colne. This Lot is in the Occupation of Mr. Everard Willett, who pays
a Barrel-Rent on the Trade, which amounts by Estimation, to about £40 per Annum.
The auction took place on 26th March. 1832, by the order of Daniel Oathwaite
