I’m currently researching my wife’s family tree and have come across a Frederick William Turtle who, in the 1901 census, is down as being a licensed victualler at the Eagle Inn on the Isle of Wight. It’s interesting to see that Fred (who passed away in 1910) left the pub to his wife Louisa, and it seems to have stayed in the family until I presume it closed. ***
