HOTHFIELD is a parish and village, three miles N.E. from Pluckley
Station; 65 from London, 3 miles N.W. from Ashford. In 1851 the population
was 408. There is a small church, and is dedicated to St. Mary;
the living is a rectory; Rev. Richard C. Swan, B.A., Rector. Godington
is one mile S.E.; Swinford is half a mile S.E.; Ripper's Cross half a mile
S.W.; Rutton one mile west; Broken Fostal one mile and a half N.W.;
West Street half a mile north; Surrenden is one mile and a half west;
Wooden Street one mile and a half north; Ashes one mile N.E., Yonsee
and Grafton one mile and a half N.E.; Potter's Corner one mile and a
half N.E.

POST-OFFICE, Westwell Common - Thomas Russell, Receiver. The nearest
Money Order Office is at Ashford.
