LUDDESDOWN is a parish, six miles and a half south from Gravesend, and six miles S.W. from Rochester. The population in 1851 was 288. The church is very ancient. Buckland is one mile south; Frenches, one mile S.E.; Comb Hill one mile and a half S.W.; Punish, two miles south; Boghurst, two miles S.W.; Poundgate, two miles and a half S.W.
