LYMPNE, with the hamlet of COURT-AT-STREET, is a small village, three miles west of Hythe, two miles and a half S.W. of Westenhanger station. The church of St. Stephen is a fine building. The living is a vicarage, in the gift of the Archbishop of Canterbury, and incumbency of the Rev. Edwin Biron, M.A., vicar. The population in 1851 was 552.
Eldergate is half a mile west; Bellevue, a quarter of a mile west; Beacon House, a quarter of a mile N.W.; Berwick, one mile N.E.; Cold Harbour, three quarters of a mile N.W.; Otterpool, one mile N.W.

Letters are received through Hythe, which is also the nearest Money Order Office.
