NETTLESTEAD is a parish and village, seven miles S.W. from Maidstone, and about one mile from Wateringbury station. The population in 1851 was 461 The church is, dedicated to St. Mary, and is a neat structure. The living is a rectory, with Teston united; and incumbency of the Hon. and Rev. P. J. Noel. Borough's Oak is one mile and a half south, and Hale Street two miles south.

Letters received through Wateringbury. The nearest Money Order Office is at Hadlow.
