STANSTEAD is a parish, nine miles S.W. from Gravesend, and three miles north from Wrotham. The population in 1851 was 440. Here is a parish church, of which the Rev. Thomas Nunn is rector.

FAIRSEAT is a hamlet, one mile S.E., and contains 103 inhabitants.
