WICKHAM, or WICKHAM EAST, with a part of WELLING. -
Wickham East is a village and parish, near to the high road from London, to
Dartford, five miles from Dartford, and ten miles from London. The church is
small. The living is annexed to that of Plumstead, and is in the incumbency of
the Rev. William Ackworth, M.A. The population in 1851 was 666.
Welling is a hamlet, part of which belongs to this parish, and is increasing
in population.
Letters are received through Bexley. The nearest Money Order Offices are at
Plumstead and Bexley.
