My Grandad - Richard Bernard Tillcock - behind the bar at The Two Blue Posts, taken at the time of the blitz and the pub was thereafter structurally unsound. I remember it as a bomb site as were all the buildings running to its left.

Also, see the Two Brewers, 32 Gough Street

The Two Blue Posts was decimated in the WWII blitz - it was structurally unsound. l do remember the buildings from 79 Mount Pleasant going away from Laystall street they were all bombed. My father said that he was thrown down the stairs when the pub was hit but luckily they survived I am not sure whether any customers died though. **

My grandparents lived in a flat in Gray's Inn Road and we lived at the Two Brewers. **
