James Onions (who was living here in 1901), and his brother Billy Onions looked after the running of the pub for Mrs Reay. James Onions, by the way, apparently later married one of the Reay daughters resident in the pub with him in 1901. ***

My Father, Eddie, was publican at the Richard Cobden (34 Repton Street, Limehouse) from 1962 to the late ‘80s (making him one of  the longest-serving publicans in East London). From 1962 The Landlord was my dad, Albert Edward “Eddie” Guy. (He was aged 31 when he took the pub). Also resident there was his wife, Barbara (Aged 26 in 1962) and me (as a young child) ***
