1958-65/George Harvey Matthews/../../../Black Eagle Journal ***

George Harvey Matthews joined Trumans in August 1955 as licensee of the Army and Navy, Stoke Newington, until June 1958, when he and his wife moved to the Assembly House, Kentish Town.
Their warm personalities soon won them a lot of friends in all parts of the Trade and their varied interests make it easy for any visitor to enjoy a conversation with them. Proof of Harvey's popularity in the Trade is in the fact that he has been elected Chairman of the St Pancras LVA for the past three years. Before joining the Company, Mr and Mrs Matthews were schoolteachers and, though the change of occupation may seem strange, they soon became 'naturals'. They have a family - a daughter and two sons; they are moving shortly to the Duke of St Albans at Highgate. - Black Eagle Journal ***
