Westminster St James index
By 1739 there were two separate pubs present here,
the Ham and the Windmill. By the 1880s the two had merged to become the Ham
& Windmill. The name was changed to the Lyric Tavern in 1890 and the pub was
re-built in its current form in 1906. It closed in 2007. **

My Great Great Grandad was a publican at this pub according to the 1841
census, I can't find out what happened but when his son was born in 1843 he
was living in Norton Folgate East London; and on his son's birth certificate
it says "Out of business formally a licensed victualler. He originally came
from Wiltshire and married a Jane (also known as Ann) Marshall in 1835, both
are on the 1841 census. *
