The Old Kings Head in 1871 census only. In existence by the 1790s, this house stood on the south side of Knightsbridge High Road (today’s Knightsbridge) opposite the barracks. It was demolished in the early 1880s when the public hall (Humphrey’s Hall) behind it was enlarged for a Japanese Village exhibition which opened in 1885. Humphrey’s Mansions (later Albert Mansions) were built on the High Road frontage. *
