This pub was built in 1854-5 as two private houses (Nos. 19 & 20) on the south side of the street, on the corner of Lancelot Place. They were later knocked together to form the pub, which took the number 19. Together with most of the rest of the street, it was pulled down in 1956-7 for office development. ***
