Snowdrop, South Street, Cliffe, Lewes

This pub was originally the Schooner Inn, destroyed by an avalanche on 27 December 1836 with loss of several lives – the worst such event ever recorded in England. It was rebuilt and appropriately renamed the Snowdrop (sometimes Snow Drop) in 1840. **
