At the time of the 1951 census he is shown as a licensed victualler at 29 Dorset Street, Marylebone, Middlesex. His barman, potman, house servant, servant and nurse maid were also all born in Margate. Thomas dies in 1853 and Elizabeth continues to hold the licence. ***
