Horse & Groom, 255 Mare Street, Hackney E8

Hackney Index

This pub was probably present by 1593. It closed in around 2004, and was named Maddigan's at the time of closure. There has been much rebuilding and the pub now looks radically different from the 1997 photo.
Although re-opening in 2006, under the name Amp, by September 2007 the pub was once again closed and empty.
It now looks to be under conversion to restaurant use.
