My parents, Mr & Mrs Day, where the last publicans to have the pub from 1964/65 until it closed and previous to them it was a Mr & Mrs Bowser. My parents both lived in close proximity to the pub, my father used to live in Greenwood road in his youth and my mother lived facing the pub in the flats opposite. The pub was used by my parents and grandparents during the war years, I still have the clock that was in the pub prior to the war. *
