My Great grandfather, John Asser, was landlord at the
Lord Nelson in 1891. His
brothers Samuel and Stephen had the Queens Hotel, Victoria Park and the
Royal Oak, Victoria Park. I have this information after researching my family
tree. Their father (I think) lived at 25 White Post Lane, Grange House, Bow
- The Lord Napier. ***

In 1901 census Samuel Asser was the landlord of The Queens Hotel, 274
Victoria Park Road.
If you are interested, attached is a picture of an R Whites bottle which
hung in the bar. It has a pear with whiskey in it. The pear may have been
grown in the orchard at the rear of the pub. ***
